Faballistic - "To look within, where do I begin?"

ominotago1 asked: What do you do to write your rhymes? Do you use a certain creative theme?

It all begins with a single line, that doesn’t necessarily stay as the first line of the finished song, but that line seems as if it was somehow sent to my brain; as if someone else whispered it while I was sleeping and it got implanted into my sub-conscience.

I could carry it around with me through out the day and slowly develop the following lyrics but a majority of them purge out of me while I’m showering. All I need is a catchy beat, a good vibe, and the rest is up to me to tell a story with it all; best done when I’m alone.

Rejection by Faballistic

Rejection…there are those who do it, and those who get it. There are two different ways to see rejection. The first way, is to receive it, and move on. The other way, is to observe and improve from it. What’s the difference right? Well let’s check it out together.

Moving on from being rejected is to aknowledge that you’ve been deemed “unworthy” enough to be accepted by the person/group/company and not cry about it. You get it and you don’t really care too much about it. You know you’re limitless and promising, so why would you even consider letting their standards get to you? You’re the one marketable so don’t sell yourself short and let their perception of “worth” dictate what you can do; or who you are. Period. People judge you within the first ten seconds of meeting you, so let them miss out if they waste those seconds on petty internal thoughts or their own insecurties instead of the golden time and words you’re giving away for free.

Observe and report. You get the same kind of rejection but instead of turning away and moving on, you reflect on why it happened. What was your approach? What did you NOT say? How did you present yourself in those first ten seconds? You do this, because you’re trying to figure out what works for you and what drowns you; you don’t know your limits or potential yet but that’s okay, because that’s the point. You are learning about what you can do and actually building your confidence and self-esteem. Think of it as one wrong answer on a math problem, and not an F on the entire test. You study because you don’t know all the answers right? Okay then, recalculate the hypothesized solution and test yourself again and again until you get it right. That’s life!

I know what you’re thinking in the back of your head. “What about ALL the different kinds of rejection?” I say to you, you shoudn’t ever let rejection demolish you (no matter what type of rejection) when you have options to move on from them or overcome them. Pay attention to the places and people stinging you with rejection. If you’re rejected out of ignorance, MOVE ON because they’re not worth selling yourself to. If you’re rejected out of something personal, IMPROVE YOURSELF for YOU and you alone; let it be the “gas” and not the “brake”. You can’t hide from rejection, but it’s going to find you whether it’s big or small. There’s no secret to defeating it, you either learn from it or keep running from it. There are two ways to deal with it so utilize those options and soon, it won’t sting at all.
